I can never buy products from PC World in Cambridge without a fight. All i want to do is buy an item, pay cash or credit card and walk out. Instead I have to go to the office terminal, fill out loads of forms, be instructed what it is capable of and then they will only release it. I have bounght in the last two years over 40 printers, 7 laptops yet they still play this silly game. Now in Currys or Comet, I collect a box, pay and leave.
I usually find there is no-one around to ask or to get help, and do a lot of the workers in PC World really know what they are talking about?
The worst thing must be the adverts on TV though, where you see someone walk into shot, and say I need a laptop, and the actor employee says how about this it’s got this that and the other all for £500, and the customer just says ok - I’ll take it now! Oh yeah just like that, pretending £500 is just nothing to most people, well it’s a lot of money to most people.
Moral of the story do your research on IT products, and always buy online from this blog so that you don’t have to confront employees in shops, or deal with parking and queues!
